Specialist, Manufacturing Engineering/CNC Programmer

• Support Manufacturing Engineering activities as required such as Bill of Material, Bill of Process, Work Instruction and standard hour development
• Support initial start-up Production processes (Manufacturing Validation Build/Product Launch Process/First Piece Inspection)Create CNC programs and nests for 5 axis laser using Siemens NX CAM
• Provide engineering and tooling demonstration support to internal customers
• Advise/Support Production machine operators
• Support development of machine fixturing for machine operations
• Pursue and execute process improvement initiatives and IR&D projects in collaboration with Production and other key stakeholders
• Investigate and support the resolution of quality deviations including root cause analysis and corrective action implementation
• Provide consistent, timely and accurate Manufacturing Engineering support to the shop floor
• Support off shifts, as required

Position Requirements:

• University Degree or College diploma in Manufacturing/Mechanical Engineering; or Skilled Trades License with 3+ years equivalent experience
• Minimum 1-3 years’ experience CNC programming
• Familiarity with Siemens 840D controller
• Background in heavy manufacturing
• Goal-oriented with the ability to work independently and make sound decisions in a fast paced environment
• Able to work closely with internal customers to maintain schedule

Preferred Requirements:

• Experience with welding processes, procedures and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerances (GD&T)
• Working knowledge of Team Center, Siemens NX, Oracle and Maximo
• Minimum 3 years’ experience working with shop floor employees in a unionized environment
