The Supplier Quality Engineer assures the quality of processes and products by performing audits, inspections, tests, defect analysis, trend analysis, programming & troubleshooting inspection equipment, calibration maintenance, and reporting on results of measurement standards. They will also assure consistent quality of suppliers and production by validating processes; providing documentation from measurement analysis, and helping departments understand the interpretation of collected data.
 

Supplier Quality Engineering (80%)

  • Collect and evaluate supplier quality data to identify process improvement opportunities within the supply chain.
  • Working with the supplier directly, create corrective action plans to address process failures.
  • Review supplier manufacturing processes, collaborate with suppliers on process improvement and value enhancement opportunities.
  • Conduct quality inspection at supplier site as per PW Inspection Test Plan (ITP).
  • Regularly communicate with Engineering and Supply Chain internally to identify opportunities for quality and productivity improvement.
  • Collect and maintain supplier performance metrics.
  • Coordinate with Technical Support, Engineering, Manufacturing and Technical Support to ensure awareness to known purchased part or product quality issues.
  • Manage and administer contract source inspectors and services.
  • Provide quality support to America’s region team (Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, Customer Service, Sales and Field Service) with focus on compliance with ISO9001:2015
  • Effectively lead resolution/problem solving to external Customer Complaints (CC´s) and internal Non-Conformances (NC´s), ensuring standard work has been followed, root causes are clearly defined, communicated and corrective actions are implemented and sustained
  • Manage 3rd Party QA Inspection agencies to perform supplier inspections according to Pall Water Inspection Test Plans (ITP´s), including ITP reports
  • Responsible for supplier quality audits and for establishing problem solving activities to find root causes and implement effective countermeasures
  • Complete all required Quality Assurance tasks to onboard new suppliers
  • Responsible for quality data analysis, trending, root cause investigation and driving to implementation of countermeasures.
  • Responsible for presenting quality data analysis to support daily management and management reporting

 

Quality Management System Standard Work Responsibility (20%)

  • Subject matter expert on organization’s Electronic Document Management System (EDMS) workflow and other Pall Water systems (as required)
  • Ensure proper quality of the content of documentation and records and ensure that controlled documents adhere to applicable ISO standards and applicable regulations
  • Maintain required QMS training records as per ISO standards and applicable regulations
  • Continually improve the QMS processes while ensuring that ISO standards and applicable regulations are met
  • Maintain VM/DM related to QMS standard work, as required
  • Apply problem solving and strategic thinking to troubleshooting efforts that support department objectives
  • Provide feedback and continuous improvement suggestions
  • Travel to suppliers and job-site in North America – 35 - 40%

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
  • Minimum of 4-5 years’ experience in supplier quality engineering in an ISO certified industry:
  • Experience in Quality Management System and ISO9001:2015
  • Proven experience with statistical data analysis
  • ASQ Certification preferred
  • Must be able to meet the travel requirement of the role.
  • Use an analytical approach to problem solving
