Our location in London, ON has an opening for Full Time Production / Relief Setup Operators.

Position Description: (This is a full-time production role that provides Setup Operator backup when needed)

This position performs all duties assigned by the Setup Manager, Supervisor and Shift Operations Manager. 

Responsibilities & Duties: (This is meant to be an outline, not an exhaustive list of responsibilities)

  • Work on the production line in a variety of roles (Depositing, Decorating and Packaging) to produce our high-quality cake products.
  • Follow standard operating procedures and safety guidelines.
  • Equipment set up and troubleshooting adjustments, to keep products within standard and to keep all the lines running at or above required performance.
  • Maintaining the required hygiene standards of the equipment and the facility, consistent with GMP standards and the Master Sanitation Schedules. 
  • Removing waste from the production areas as needed.
  • Safe use, storage, and maintenance of all company supplied cleaning equipment and materials.
  • Supporting contract cleaning and maintenance services when necessary.
  • Maintaining all BRC audit paperwork and other required documentation as may be required.
  • Liaising with appropriate staff throughout the shift to ensure continuous process and quality standards.
  • Supporting training and continuous learning activities within the department.
  • Responsible to practice the 5 steps of cleaning at all times.

Position Requirements: 

  • 1-2 years of experience working as a machine or set up operator in a continuous process manufacturing environment, preferably food or pharmaceutical.
  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent; technical degree is a plus.
  • Chemical knowledge and comfortable working with exposure to cold temperatures
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics and manuals.
  • Adhering to safety, quality and performance standards.
  • Ability to work independently, well organized, effective judgment.
  • Outstanding attention to detail with the ability to understand mechanics and technical tasks
  • Excellent attendance record and demonstrated reliability.
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting, climb stairs, navigate around equipment, and work with a sense of urgency.
  • Cooperative and works well with others, strong communicator.
  • Willing and able to be trained on working at heights and safe use of aerial platform equipment (Genie-boom Lifts, Scissor Lifts)    

Shift Summary:

  • Required to be available for a minimum of five shifts per week from Monday to Saturday, with Saturdays being a regularly required shift.
  • Desire more hours? Increase your availability!
  • All the shifts are rotational and run for 8 hours with a 30-minute break added.

Schedule:

  • Schedules are posted 2 weeks in advance.
  • Must be able to accommodate all the starting times on the specified shift
  • Start times could be different every day,
    • C-Shift start times are between 5:00 pm - 10:00 pm

What We Offer:

Pay Rate: While performing Production role, probationary rate per hour is $18.83 and full rate is $20.92.

                  While performing Setup role, probationary rate per hour is $22.74 and full rate is $25.27.
