Quality Systems Analyst I

POSITION OVERVIEW

  • To ensure customer and McCormick quality standards are met, and to provide disposition for out of specification products.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • The Quality Systems Analyst will Plan and participate in customer, regulatory, and vendor audits and visits. 
  • Work closely with plant teams to perform root cause analysis
  • Assist in planning and executing corrective action plans
  • Manage routine GMP and Sanitation audits
  • Lead the day to day management of the existing HACCP plans (FSEP –based)
  • Participate in or lead mock recalls and material traceability exercises
  • Participate in the start-up of new processes from a food safety perspective
  • Interact with customers at any and all levels required to establish and maintain effective business relationships
  • Participate or lead the development of new or revised programs as assigned by the Quality Manager
  • Identify opportunities for improved efficiency of operation (capital, expenses, people, equipment, etc.)
  • Assist the Quality Team in determining the annual Quality Program training needs

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Post-Secondary Education – Bachelor of Science degree
  • One to two years’ manufacturing Quality Control experience required with food manufacturing
  • Ability and experience writing technical procedures

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Knowledge and experience working with HACCP Programs and other Food Safety pre-requisite programs
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents, such as specifications, procedure manuals, and technical data sheets
  • Working knowledge of statistics such as Z scores is preferred
  • Good knowledge of quality system programs, including HACCP, Food Safety, Sanitation, Allergens, and how these programs integrate with other plant operations
  • A demonstrated ability to react to multiple and changing priorities with the ability to achieve results within a compressed timeframe.
  • Ability to recognize problems, analyze them, and offer solutions and use logical thought processes when making decisions
  • Ability to work well with all levels of employees, and effectively communicate technical information to a diverse audience
