Description
Amsted Automotive Group, London, Ontario is looking for a Press Team Leader to coordinate daily activities based on requirements as directed by the Production Supervisor recording, reporting, and communicating all product, people, and Press concerns to appropriate personnel.
The team leader is capable of running various equipment (including changeover, part loading, press operation, unloading, packing and inspecting) and seen as process specific expert based on past experience.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Responsible to coordinate and/or complete daily activities based on requirements as directed by the Area Leader
- Responsible to provide, as needed/or required, various reports both written/verbal as related to press product, people, equipment
- Responsible to operate various presses (including changeover, coil feed, die setups, part loading, press operation, unloading, quality checking own parts or the work of others as required)
- Responsible to conduct troubleshooting activities, including the elevation of issues as required, to ensure the safe and smooth running of stamping processes
- Champion or participate in the development of activities to improve efficiency or effectiveness of press operations
- Perform preventive maintenance activities as scheduled or required
- Act as a role model for Team Members based on TFA’s Handbook standards, visions/values/organization goals
- Complete work assignments with accuracy, sense of urgency, and in a safe manner in accordance with established standards, and all applicable Regulations / Legislation
- Participate in company programs as required or requested including but not limited to 5S, Elimination of Waste, communication meetings, training, etc.
- Create, update and maintain a training matrix for all TFA – London team member training
- Promote the company’s operational visions, values, and goals
- Conduct all work activities in a manner that is supportive of team effort
- Participation in training or other team activities to support ongoing continuous improvement
- Adherence to all rules and regulations as may be amended from time to time
- Participate in the company’s health, safety, environmental, and operational programs
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Manager, or his/her designate.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED
- Partial completion to completion of post secondary training in leadership along with technical program a definite asset
- Must be familiar with safe and efficient work practices for tooling changes/set up
- Must successfully complete all job required training (on job / in classroom)
- Minimum 2-3 years automotive manufacturing experience in machine operation and troubleshooting
- Previous press and or team leader experience a definite asset
- Strong organizational and time managements skills
- Ability to achieve results / targets through others who are not direct reports
- Ability to adapt and maintain performance in changing work environment
- Effective interpersonal / communication skills required
- Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to effectively manage conflict, foster good team and inter-department relations
