As a Manager, Quality Assurance, you’ll lead and develop a team of Quality Inspectors within our Cartons & Labels division while driving compliance with ISO 9001, GMP, and SQF standards. Working closely with Operations and Support teams, you’ll oversee quality systems, resolve quality challenges, support regulatory compliance, and champion continuous improvement initiatives that help ensure products consistently meet customer expectations.

What You’ll Be Accountable For:

  • Production Support: Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns, diagnose issues, and restore operations safely and efficiently.
  • Team Leadership: Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing quality team while supporting engagement, accountability, food safety, and continuous improvement.
  • Performance Management: Oversee onboarding, scheduling, workload planning, performance management, and ongoing development of team members.
  • Quality Systems: Maintain and continuously improve the Quality Management System to support operational and customer requirements.
  • Quality Oversight: Lead daily quality assurance and quality control activities, including inspections, testing, documentation, and process compliance.
  • Product Release: Ensure products meet established specifications and quality standards prior to release.
  • Process Improvement: Enhance inspection technologies, quality procedures, documentation, and monitoring practices to improve quality outcomes.
  • CAPA Management: Lead investigations into non-conformances, conduct root cause analysis, and manage corrective and preventive action processes.
  • Quality Analytics: Monitor and analyze quality metrics, identify trends, escalate risks, and drive improvement opportunities.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, GMP, SQF, customer requirements, and internal quality standards.
  • Audit Readiness: Support and lead internal audits, customer audits, third-party audits, and regulatory inspections.
  • Calibration Program: Oversee equipment calibration programs to ensure inspection and measurement tools remain accurate and compliant.
  • Cross-Functional Partnership: Collaborate with Operations, Supply Chain, Technical Services, and customer-facing teams to resolve quality issues and support new products and processes.
  • Customer Requirements: Translate customer quality expectations and critical-to-quality requirements into scalable production processes and documentation.
  • Documentation & Training: Lead the creation and maintenance of quality documentation, support SOP implementation, and facilitate quality-related training across the site.
  • Quality Technology: Oversee quality management systems and inspection technologies to ensure data integrity and effective use throughout operations
  • Health, Safety & Environment: Champion compliance with Health & Safety and Environmental (ISO 14001) policies and procedures.

What you’ll bring

  • Post-secondary diploma; diploma in Quality is an asset.
  • 7+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience leading, coaching, and developing teams in a quality-focused environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Quality Management Systems and regulatory frameworks, including ISO 9001, GMP, and SQF.
  • Experience leading root cause investigations and corrective and preventive action (CAPA) processes.
  • Expertise in quality inspection methods, AQL sampling, and interpreting technical specifications.
  • Experience supporting audits, inspections, and compliance programs.
  • Proficiency with electronic quality management and inspection systems (e.g., ZenQMS, EyeC, AVT, Autocount).
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with cross-functional teams
  • High attention to detail and strong documentation capabilities.
  • Food, pharmaceutical, packaging, or other regulated manufacturing experience is an asset.
  • Continuous improvement mindset with a passion for quality and operational excellence.
