We are currently looking to add to our team a Help Desk Technician.

POSITION SUMMARY
Reporting to the Systems Analyst, the Help Desk Technician receives technical support tickets, phone calls, emails, etc. to trouble shoot and provide problem solving assistance to end users. This position summary is to be used as a guideline only and may not incorporate all functions of the job.
  • Provide remote Help Desk technical support for all company users
  • Administer and maintain end users in Windows AD, Azure and Office365
  • Help with maintaining stable operation of the computer network, and all connected devices, and peripherals
  • Maintain and perform regular audits of IT assets, hardware, software, and mobile devices
  • Configure, deploy, troubleshoot, and resolve network devices
  • Maintain and provide end user training where required
  • Identify and resolve network, hardware, and software related failures, and issues
  • Perform root cause analysis, manage technology issues, and deploy remedial actions
  • Provide input into network design, capacity planning, policies, and procedures
  • Implement training plans for network administration, appropriate use, and disaster recovery
  • Conduct research on network products, services, protocols, and standards
  • Interact with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors to procure network products and services
  • Maintain servers, e-mail, print, internal services, ERP, knowledge base, and asset tracking
  • Maintain and verify backup, security solutions, intrusion, and detection systems
  • Assist in the maintenance of all network hardware, and equipment, including routers, switches, hubs, and UPSs
  • Develop, document, and train on hardware/software installation, and troubleshooting procedures
  • Assist in the development of department policy, procedures, and documentation

ATTRIBUTES WE SEEK
  • Recent graduate with a diploma or degree in the field of computer science with a focus on network design, and administration, or 2 years of equivalent work experience
  • Working technical knowledge of network and PC operating systems, including Windows XP, Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 10, Windows Server from 2012 to current release
  • Working technical knowledge of current network hardware, protocols, and standards, including hardware RAID, Active Directory, TCP/IP
  • Hands-on hardware troubleshooting experience
  • Able to install, support, and troubleshoot server and PC hardware components and peripherals
  • A strong working knowledge of MS Server, MS Office Suite, and Office365, Active Directory, including DNS, DHCP, DFS, and Group Policy
  • Basic skills for supporting Ethernet/IP networks for desktop, mobile, and IP telephony
  • Strong developed skills in IT research, and problem-solving
  • Working technical knowledge of ESXi and VMware, Veeam, Cisco switches and WLAN
  • Knowledge of MS WPKG, SQL, PowerShell, C#, JAVA, PHP, HTML/CSS an asset
  • Attention to detail and able to handle a wide variety of duties in a professional manner
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
  • Ability to present ideas in a user-friendly and non-technical language
  • High positive attitude with strong interpersonal skills
  • Able and willing to travel in Canada and USA to support end users at various work locations as required
