Position Title: Sanitation Technician (Food/Bakery)

Reporting Structure: Reports to the Plant Manager and Sanitation Supervisor

Founded in 2018, the company has grown to over 3,500 retail and foodservice locations in less than 3 years. We make and sell an entire suite of products such as buns, bread, pizzas, tortillas and more!

What You Do

As the Sanitation Technician, you will be responsible for cleaning the equipment and facilities according to Good Manufacturing Practices while meeting safe quality food standards. Position responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Tear down and set up assigned area(s) for cleaning
• Prepare equipment, utensils and machinery for cleaning
• Adhere to sanitation standard operating procedures (“SOPs”) in doing the given tasks at all times
• Work with allergens (i.e. various nuts and chemicals)
• Sweeping/mopping floors and cleaning overhead structures such as pipes, beams, ceilings which will require a ladder
• Periodically sweeping/cleaning inside cold rooms and storage freezers
• Garbage collection and dumping in garbage bins or compactor
• Observe health and safety procedures at all times and report to Plant Manager, or other designated supervisors, any observations that pose risks in the performance of duties
• Provide support to the production team as requested or required
• Perform general labour activities that may be assigned from time to time
• Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (“GMP”) at all times
• Attend required trainings
• Contribute to team work and foster positive working relations with peers and superiors
• Perform other related duties as required or requested
• Provide support to other areas of the business as required

Experience/Education

• 1-3 years of sanitation experience in food manufacturing is an asset
• Understanding of WHMIS
• Understanding of machine assembly/disassembly
• High attention to detail
• Ability to multi-task

Hours of Work and Conditions

• Factory setting
• Sitting, standing, leaning for extended periods of time
• Pushing, pulling or bending frequently
• Lifting up to 25lbs
• Up to 40 hours per week (Monday to Friday, 4:00pm - 12:30am).
