Equals launched Bangarang Hard Seltzer in 2020, which has grown to be one of the fastest-growing RTD brands in Ontario. In 2021, Equals launched Shake Lager, which won a gold medal in its first appearance in the Canadian Brewing Awards. Job Summary:

This role is great for candidates who are looking to learn more about the packaging and production processes in a manufacturing/brewery environment. There are opportunities to learn and grow within the department for individuals who are passionate about the product and industry and who are willing to take the time to learn and develop their skills.

The successful candidate will have a safety and quality conscious perspective towards work and packaging. They will be a team player and also a quick learner.

This role starts at $18/hour with room for growth within the company. It consist of rotating 8 hours shifts with shift premiums.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • All aspects of packaging beer including; setting up materials, setting up equipment, operating packaging equipment and troubleshooting abnormalities.
  • Working with the team to develop policies and procedures for packaging operations.
  • Assist in cleaning all packaging equipment and surrounding area.
  • Performing quality inspections of primary and secondary packaging throughout the process.
  • Ensure efficient operations of the packaging equipment and support and problem solve when deviations occur.
  • Training and developing other packaging operators on policies and procedures.
  • Performing weekly preventative maintenance, safety checks, and lubrication routines.
  • Supporting shipping and receiving as required.
  • Supporting brewing operations as required.
  • All other duties as assigned.

The successful candidate will need to:

  • Be able to lift up to 60lbs on a frequent basis.
  • Be able to obtain a forklift license upon hiring.
  • Have knowledge of industrial controls and automation (previous manufacturing experience is an asset).
  • Have experience running packaging equipment (high-speed rotating equipment and/or packer experience an asset).
  • Have a desire to learn new techniques and processes.
  • Have a mechanical aptitude and proven ability to understand how things work and how to troubleshoot.
  • Have the desire and drive to learn new skills and become a key team member at Equals.
  • Have full ownership of the process and the ability to follow and develop consistent procedures.
  • Be a self-starter and always looking for opportunities to improve and maintain the safety.
  • Be focused on safety and the environment. No risk-taking and minimal impact on the environment will be key aspects of the operation.
  • Work a variety of shifts including; day shifts, afternoon shifts, night shifts, and overnights shifts.
