Aircraft Technician Level 2 (Licensed)

Responsibilities
- Perform complex structure and aircraft installations, repairs, rework, and tests.
- Complete scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, repairs, testing, inspections, installations, modifications and component changes of aircraft structures, components, and test equipment
- Inspect, test and evaluate structural damage.
- Complete required paperwork, certifications and releases for work completed to meet airworthiness standards.
- Troubleshoot mechanical and structural problems.
- Comply with all safety regulations.
- Ensure aircraft is ready for authorization or certification for maintenance release following any maintenance or repairs to the applicable airworthiness standard.
- Ensure all parts and assembly meet requirements in accordance with approved data.
- Report unserviceable parts to the Person Responsible for Maintenance
- Investigate aircraft system deficiencies and faults; find or discuss possible rectifications with applicable manuals and documents e.g., service bulletins and drawings.
- Manage all parts and disposition of parts in assigned workstation by using proper documentation.
- Support the company’s programs, such as FOD, health & safety and continuous improvement.
- Instruct and assist other team members in interpretation of blueprints, drawings, and engineering orders.
- Train other team members in methods and procedures
- Maintain neat and orderly work area.
- Coordinate work with other departments to ensure smooth workflow.
- Perform all duties in accordance with Health and Safety policies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs (25 kg’s)
Skills
- AME M1 license is a requirement.
- Ability to read and interpret basic blueprints and schematic diagrams.
- Familiar with all functions of components and systems for installation
- Possess mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to operate various tools and equipment.
- Possess skill in close tolerance work, e.g., drilling, reaming, ship fitting parts, etc.
- Thorough knowledge in the use of multiple measuring devices with ability to use within specified tolerance.
- Possess manual dexterity and good hand-eye coordination.
- Possess understanding of computerized machinery considered an asset.
- Ability to use computer programs such as Excel and Word
- Ability to navigate systems such as Smarteam and Navision considered an asset.
- Diploma from accredited Post secondary institution considered an asset.
- Previous experience in general aviation maintenance considered an asset.
- Pilots license considered an asset.
- Radio operators certificate considered an asset.
- Ability to research and understand the Canadian Aviation Regulations (CAR’s)and FAA Regulations (FAR’s)
- Understanding of the basic flow of a work order / process.
Job Type
- Full-time; Weekend Shift (Friday to Monday) 10 hr shift (shift premium provided).
