About The Role

• The Groundskeeper Irrigation Technician, under the supervision of the Community Grounds Superintendent, is responsible for the programming, operation and maintenance of the residential community irrigation system(s) as well as general upkeep and maintenance of the community grounds and property.
• This position will service and repair all community irrigation system components; assist with the installation of new residential irrigation systems; perform system upgrades to existing community irrigation systems; monitor and schedule daily system watering programs; and participate in all departmental water management initiatives.
• In addition, the Groundskeeper Irrigation Technician assists with grounds keeping and snow removal activities as required, safely and properly operating any power equipment assigned, including lawnmowers, tractors, snow blowers, weed trimmers, power edgers, power clippers, and chain saws.
   

• Working knowledge of basic electricity and hydraulics related to an irrigation system, including automatic valves and controllers, and working knowledge of various types of pumps and pumping systems.
• Understanding of basic agronomy and turf grass maintenance practices.
• Knowledge of tools, methods, and materials used in grounds and landscape maintenance work.
• Ability to follow oral and written directions.
• Ability to perform physical job functions during all weather conditions.
• 3-5 years of related landscaping maintenance experience
• Ability to obtain a pesticide exterminator license.
• Possession of a valid driver's license; dependable transportation and ability to report for flexible work schedules.
• Able to drive pick-up trucks, turf vehicles, and mowers and operate small landscaping tools and equipment.
