Primary Purpose of Position
Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisors, the Die Heater Technician keeps all Die heaters and spare components in good working order to ensure timely production and quality parts to our customer.
Major Responsibilities of Position
Housekeeping: Cleaning Die Heater area and equipment. Maintain a safe working environment. Report any safety concerns to Maintenance Supervisor.
Preventative Maintenance: Maintain all Mokon Die Heaters in good working condition through regular preventative maintenance. Track all Mokon die heaters through the Preventative maintenance program and report to production team to schedule regular preventative maintenance.
Training: Must take time to train apprentices, passing on the knowledge of the trade as needed. Must take the initiative to review the newer die heaters to ensure job knowledge and Preventative maintenance does not get outdated.
Work Orders: All work is assigned through a work order system within Meridian's ERP system Plex. Work orders must be completed upon completion of a job task with details regarding steps taken, materials used, and time taken.
Other: Must contribute their opinion or forward ideas about improvements regarding the Die Heater preventative maintenance including a minimum of one (1) Kaizen projects for continuous improvement annually. Cooperating with all departments to ensure that functional die heaters are available and maintained.
- Other duties as required including stockroom repairs as they arise.

- Support day to day activities based on supervisory and management team needs.
- To communicate improvement ideas and provide solutions to day to day activities.
- Access PLEX and put in daily hours against work done.

Educational and Certification Background
1* Certificate of Qualification for Electrician / Millwright - Essential*
2* 1+ years’ experience within a manufacturing plant - Essential*
Personal Competencies
- Experience in both die cast & machining, automotive, or manufacturing environment.
- Troubleshooting mechanical and hydraulic systems, change faulty components, and process troubleshooting are assets
- Show maturity, good judgment, reliability, verbal, and written communication skills.
- The ability to work, learn new things & thrive in a team environment.
- Knowledge of government codes, rules and regulations and be able to keep up to date of changes of these codes.
- Knowledge of company policies & procedures.
- Be familiar with the OH&S Act and Regulations.
