Assistant Plant Controller

Reporting to the Plant Controller, the Assistant Plant Controller is accountable for effectively controlling, reporting and analyzing the financial and statistical information regarding the company’s Adair operations on a timely and accurate basis.  The Assistant Plant Controller is also accountable to develop and maintain appropriate internal control systems and procedures that safeguard the assets of the Company.

Regular working hours: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM or 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM with a 30-minute unpaid lunch.

The Role

• Plan, direct and coordinate all accounting operational functions.

• Manage the accumulation and consolidation of all financial and statistical data necessary for an accurate accounting of business results

• Coordinate and prepare internal  financial statements.  Provide management with management reports that support decision making

• Prepare and manage the annual site budget as well as the monthly forecasts

• Assess current accounting and internal control processes, develop recommendations for improvement and monitor on going performance

• Liaise with external auditors and lead financial audits.  Make recommendations for improvements

• Must be able to work extended hours, weekends as needed, especially when problems occur or when deadlines must be met

• Other duties as required.

The Candidate

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration (Accounting, Finance) Required.

• C.M.A., C.G.A., or C.A. preferred.

• Minimum 2+ years of progressive work experience in financial management required.

• Experience working in a manufacturing environment at a middle management level, preferred

• Familiarity with pharmaceutical and/or GMP facilities preferred

• Knowledge of GAAP (generally accepted accounting principles), tax laws (including income tax & value added tax)

• Knowledge of accounting systems, budgets, internal controls, business planning, and asset management

• Knowledge of financial statement preparation and analysis

• Excellent computer skills utilizing an ERP system as well as MS Office

• Demonstrable leadership experience at Catalent (including but not limited to participation in Catalent-sponsored leadership programs such as NGGL, GOLD, LEAD Now, GM Excellence, and GROW) may be considered in place of external experience.

• Good written/verbal communication and presentation skills

• Ability to interact with external & internal partners at various levels

• Use of manual dexterity is required.

• The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, bend or twist, and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.

• Vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
