Materials Coordinator

 

Means TransForm Products, a business unit of Means Industries, an industry leading manufacturer of metal-formed products and precision propulsion components utilizing advanced proprietary stamping, machining, laser-welding and assembly processes. Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Daily inventory count of all Raw Material, Work in Progress and Finished Goods
  • Receiving of inbound raw material deliveries and communicating weekly delivery schedule to Production teams
  • Complete daily cycle counts to ensure system accuracy of inventory, maintain records of completed cycle counts
  • Weekly entry of production output confirmations to compare adherence to standard work hours
  • Champions all projects and systems to maintain registration for IATF16949, MMOG, ISO 14001
  • Provides leadership to department shipping personnel
  • Manages daily, weekly and monthly goals and objectives for the Materials department
  • Completes month end reporting tasks within time constraints
  • Acts as a backup for the Materials Manager
  • Responsible for the co-ordination of all outside services, monitoring the flow of parts to and from outside service providers and suppliers.
  • Support for release and maintenance of production work orders.
  • Develop a close working relationship with outside service providers, suppliers and customers
  • Effectively communicate on a timely basis with internal departments and coordinate necessary action plans with affected departments
  • Backup shipper/receiver as required
  • All other assigned duties

Reporting Relationships:
• Reports directly to the Materials Manager
• Works closely with the Shipper/Receiver

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

  • Completion of College diploma or University degree and/or minimum 2-3 years relevant work experience
  • Experience in formalized ERP system (preferably SAP)
  • Computer proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Experience in shipping / receiving an asset
  • Forklift License is an asset
  • Transportation of Dangerous Goods Certificate is an asset
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Detail oriented and able to multi-task
  • Problem solving - able to review relevant information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions
  • Self-starter who takes initiative to improve processes impacting multiple areas of the business
