                                                                         General Facilities Cleaning, Team Leader

Key focus:

  • Responsible for leading cleaning teams and to provide hands-on cleaning related support to our Starlim teams.
  • Plan daily routines for the Production and Building cleaning technicians.
  • The incumbent must perform all duties according to Starlim North America's Health and Safety, Quality, and Environmental policies.             

 

We require a Cleaning Team Leader who will be responsible for:

  • Communicating effectively to the General Facilities Manager about any potential issues that could impare production and building operations
  • Communicating effectively to production related department team leaders to plan daily and future cleaning responsibilities
  • Supervising and coordinating the work of the Facilities Cleaning team member(s)
  • Working with outside contractors while onsite to ensure cleaning standards are adhered to
  • Establishing and maintaining positive working relationships with internal customer, coworkers and supervisors
  • Monitoring company ERP system for building related failures and coordinate teams as needed
  • Developing and maintaining checklists and audit schedule. Perform audits
  • Completing and overseeing daily checklists and maintenance of building systems - areas must be visibly neat and orderly, implement and maintain clean and orderly work areas
  • Ensuring proper record keeping and documentation
  • Creating work instructions and risk assessments for current/future cleaning activities
  • Effectively managing the scheduling and allocation of tasks among team member(s) in the department.
  • Assisting in the hiring process and training cleaning staff
  • Communicating effectively through all levels of the organization
  • Other duties as assigned by manager

 

Do you have: 

  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • Professional Experience: 1-2 years' experience in similar role in a manufacturing environment  
  • Minimum 1-year supervisory experience
  • Experience working with and handling hazardous chemicals in a safe manner according to OHSA regulations                       
  • Understanding of health & safety initiatives throughout the facility, ensuring safety, housekeeping and quality standards are maintained

 

Successful candidate will also have: 

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
  • Aptitude for customer care and commitment
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to appreciate and maintain proper level of confidentiality
  • Self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
  • Strategic thinking with the ability to develop and implement solutions
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal to exchange/collect information with varied contacts both internally and externally
  • A valid driver’s license and clean driving abstract
  • Must be able to work nights and weekends if required

 

Work conditions and physical capabilities:

  • May be required to use special equipment and/or chemicals to complete some tasks.
  • Physically demanding with repetitive tasks (ability to lift, push, pull at least 50 lbs.)   
  • Lift and move product/parts/boxes as required
  • Combination of sitting, standing, walking
  • Standing for extended periods
  • Bending, crouching, kneeling
  • Willing and able to operate forklift (training provided)
  • Must be able to work all shifts including days, afternoons, nights, and weekends
