Manufacturing Specialist Lead

Primary Purpose of Position
Reporting to the Chief Engineer, the incumbent leads global manufacturing launch initiatives and drives technological advancement in machining, assembly, and magnesium die-casting processes. The incumbent may manage a team of engineers and technicians, ensuring competitive advantage through innovation, sustainability, and process optimization. Responsibilities include standardizing best practices, ensuring new launches follow established standards and supporting customer requirements from concept through SOP.
Major Responsibilities of Position
- Act as global project lead for new product launches, ensuring timing, cost, and quality targets.
- Develop and maintain APQP documentation and processes.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams across multiple global facilities.
- Act as technical lead for CNC machining, assembly, and die-casting process development.
- Lead troubleshooting and implement permanent corrective actions.
- Drive continuous improvement and standardization of manufacturing practices.
- Champion sustainability initiatives, including energy efficiency and waste reduction.
- Set priorities and monitor compliance with approved methods and quality standards.
- Serve as technical liaison for OEMs, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
- Support customer engineering changes and quality concerns using structured problem-solving
- Supervise staff including hiring, training and performance management.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
Educational and Certification Background
1 Bachelors’ Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent Essential
2 Masters’ Degree in Mechanical / Industrial / Metallurgical Engineering Preferred
3 5 - 10 years Engineering/Manufacturing/Business experience in the automotive industry Essential
4 3+ years experience with die-casting process Preferred

- Global travel up to 25%+; temporary relocation may be required for launch support.
